On the Road Again

It's that time again!

Those of you who are regular Cranky Fitness readers know the drill: a couple times a year the Lobster and I pack up the Moo, a bunch of Stuff, and climb into Fran the Van for a cross country trip. (Moo? Lobster? Fran? WTF?--go here). This time, we are heading from the San Francisco Bay Area to Provincetown, Massacusetts.

Via, um, San Diego, Phoenix, New Orleans, and Fort Lauderdale. These stopovers may not, technically speaking, be "on the way." But this route is warmer and contains friends we can visit, and it won't require us to learn how to put chains on our tires. So this trip may take more than a few days.

But Merry is still here, hooray! Plus, we shall have guest posts! (And could still use some more, if you're thinking about one...)

And I'll have my laptop with me so I'll try to do some posting when we have wireless. However, it's unlikely these posts will be exhaustively-researched treatises on Important Health and Fitness topics. I'm thinking more likely: "Hi! We're in the desert now! Look at the cactus!"

In fact, if I'm posting anything remotely coherent and thoughtful, there's a good chance I'm in Avoidance Mode and need a reprimand. Because theoretically I am devoting these next weeks to finishing up a book proposal that I have been dawdling over forever. Is the Health and Fitness book-buying public ready for some Crankiness? Who knows, but it seems time to give it a shot.

I will miss everyone the next couple of weeks! But I'll be reading comments and silently lurking on your blogs whenever we can rustle up cheap or free wireless. And if you see Fran the Van lumbering down a highway near you, give her a wave!

  1. Please have a safe and enjoyable trip. We'll be holding down the North East of the US until your arrival. Then of course, we will let it go and you can hold it for a while. :)

Sounds like you're focused on the journey, not just the destination (always wise).

  7. Road trip! Ooooo I'm so jealous.

Hubby and I spent a week in New England last summer. Providence is a beautiful, dynamic city and I highly recommend it if you get the chance.

Hopefully all that bad snow that's hitting the East Coast will be gone by the time ya'll get there.

Have a safe trip and don't pick up any scary hitchhikers!

  14. Happy travels! And good luck writing the proposal. I'm sure there are one or two boring stretches of highway when it will seem a lovely distraction...right?
