"Mute Monday"-- Not Quite as Catchy as "Wordless Wednesday." A Recent Bike-Walk-Run to the End of the World.

  1. OK, now the talky part!

This is just a camera phone; the pics look purdier if you click and view as a slideshow.

How lucky am I to have this as an option when I want to get a breath of fresh air?

The orange backpack pic was taken as evidence of a trust exercise when I thought I might be captioning the post. I just dumped it at the end of the jetty and went for a run without it. Obviously a run with a few stops for photos. I ain't hardcore. Similarly, note I left my bike helmet unsecured in my bike bag.

As someone who had her bikes stolen TWICE in san diego out of a locked garage, you'd think I'd be more careful but f--k it.

Anyone else get a chance to enjoy some outdoor time or are did you have to deal with storms and other bothersome stuff?

  2. B-I-U-T-I-F-U-L!

There are storms here today! :-(

But I spent the weekend outside. :-)

  3. No storms, so i got to go linger outdoors while hanging clothes to dry. Early morning when i do that is one of my favorite times of day.

Also i get to walk the field and sometimes through the trees, taking a long route to the swim club. It's not beach or like what you got to see, but it's as close as i can get without having to drive somewhere, and it's good.

  7. What an absolutely gorgeous place to be - lucky you!

It was Las Vegas HOT here this weekend - so bad that I felt like I was getting a sunburn walking from the parking lot into the store. So not a lot of outdoor time this weekend, but it's raining now so we'll be cool (oooh, in the 80s!) tomorrow, and yes, I will be getting out and enjoying that! :)

  9. Ahhhhhh... what great pics to see on a Monday morning when my day is crazy-full of clients. Thanks for the moment of peace :) {I'm going to try to re-capture that 'peace' when I start the 1st training run for the Up & Running 10K course tonight!}

    1. Good luck on the Up & Running course, LGGR! The Lobster was thunking away on the treadmill this morning so I gather it had commenced.

Actually, I went on a gorgeous but mosquito infested run in the woods this morning. So pretty! But all of a sudden DEET is my new BFF. So what if my lips were numb by the end? I'm kinda understanding the treadmill concept though...

    1. Thanks anon. It's funny, I couldn't see much in the viewfinder and just snapped randomly. It was just such a pretty day in such a pretty place I could point just about anywhere and try to find the little button thingy and hope for the best! :)

  14. Is that backpack winking at me? I think it is.

You didn't swim and make it a mini-triathlon?

I sat on the deck this morning drinking my coffee and enjoying my dog before I walked to work (not one of the days I have to be there at seven!)

    1. I didn't even notice the winking backpack til you pointed it out Mary Anne! Must have been winking straight at YOU. And no swimming at the tip of the cape for this thin blooded creature; I thought the water in Hawaii was too cold. :)

  15. Uh - Ms. Crab, please allow me just add one more comment and say that the water in Hawaii IS cold! Why ruin a perfectly good beach day by actually getting IN the water? Seriously... I'm no water baby and have really never been able to appreciate the allure of getting cold and wet, having bad hair the remainder of the day and swallowing salt water.

    1. Thanks mk! And we are SUPER lucky to actually be able to live in ptown six months of the year. Some weird lifestyle compromises involved though, which is part of the reason I need to periodically remind myself with pics like the above as to why we do it!
