Cranky Fitness, Heading West!

Back soon!

As regular blog readers may remember, Crabby and the Lobster live a very odd bicoastal life, spending half the year in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and half in San Diego, California.

This time we are not driving but flying!  So no excuses about not posting because of a cross-country trek.  Just excuses about packing and unpacking and not being able to find stuff and internet screwups and just generally being lazy and disorganizized and distracted.

But hey, notice how the Lobster is getting all clever with the photoshop??

Anyay, hope you all have a great weekend, and  I'll be back soon with more of the usual nonsense!

  3. Have a great trip. Just wanted to take the opportunity to say how happy I am to have found your blog! After basically a lifetime of sluggishness, I got a personal trainer last spring and started lifting weights seriously. It took a while to weed through fitness sites, to get past all the "Look how SKINNY I am!" sites and find the "Isn't it AWESOME to be able to rip the phone book in half?" sites. With Nerd Fitness, Feminist Fitness and now Cranky Fitness, I think I'm finally covered. You really are great fun to read, and I learn so much! Off to pour through the archives some more.

    1. Hey this comment totally made my day, thank you so much!! And I feel totally flattered to be included in such good company.

So awesome that you're tackling the fitness thing and getting serious about weights, it's never to late to start. You're enthusiasm is really inspiring, which is good 'cause I need a kick in the pants today to get back to working out myself. Travel/transistions make a handy excuse but I totally feel like crap when I get out of my routine. Anyway, thanks again for the kind words.

  4. Getting out just in time it seems!

I think the Lobster pasted extra arm muscle (Sorry for my tech talk)on you. Glad she peeled off the wrapper on the cupcake though (yep, my eyes went there) otherwise Mary hone in Utah might get more than a wave as you pass over.

Enjoy the body scanning and pat downs. I always groan, close my eyes and lick my lips. Gets me thru all speedy like and with my water (and theirs) intact.

    1. Yeah, not sorry we're going to be missing the whole hurricane excitement! It's just a boring sunny eighty degrees in San Diego. The logistics of the bicoastal thing are a pain in the ass, but we are weather wimps with thin California blood and have grown spoiled with the perpetual good weather.

  5. I see the Lobster is planning to let you fly by yourself. Don't drop anything!

    1. Nah, she's right in front of me leading the way, just out of sight. If it were up to my navigational skills we'd end up in Nova Scotia or Bolivia or something.

  6. Great job by the Lobster! I couldn't even tell it was photoshopped!

Have a great trip you two and stay safe!

    1. Thanks Joyce! If you eat enough dark chocolate you eventually develop superpowers, like the ability to fly cross country. It's a little known fact. Oh, and red wine will grant you xray vision and avocados will enable you to turn invisible whenever you feel like it. Little known facts; aren't you glad I keep up with the latest in health research?

  7. Wimp. I think one year you need to swap coasts, truly enjoy a New England winter.

    1. "Enjoy" might be stretching it...

We did spend a couple years in New York City, which was a wonderful experience but I'm now content to embrace my weather wimpiness and hide out on the west coast until the pretty green leaves return to the trees and the barbecues and lawn furnitures can come out of hibernation. Brrrr.

  9. The photo is hilarious!

It seems like this summer has just flown when I think about you heading east and that I almost got to see you passing through. Good trip! To be honest that is great that you are streamlined enough between both locations that you can fly.

    1. Thanks QD!!!

Well, we've got a ways to go on the streamlined thing... 5 big boxes will be arriving in a few days and all hell will break lose again as we try to figure out where to put everything in our tiny S.D. digs. Each time we swear we're going to pack less with us. Sigh.

  12. Have a safe trip! Perhaps by the time you get back online, I'll have become magically more organized and back to blogging (and blog reading) on a regular basis.

  13. Flying!! Very proud of both of you!!

    Hope y'all get window seats!

    1. Ack, a window seat would mean I'd have to see how far off the ground I was! Plus, I drink so much water an aisle seat is best for all concerned.

Thanks for remembering my flying phobia... which seems to have gotten a lot better over the last year. (Not that I still don't think the plane is going down whenever there's turbulence). All this brain-rewiring stuff I've been working on actually seems to be paying off!

    2. Thank goodness someone mentioned flying phobia! Not that I'm happy anyone has it- I just appreciate what fellow sufferers endure. Mine is also turbulence related and also got better over the past year... what a coinky-dink! The only upside of this condition is that when it rears its ugly head, I get in a good workout as I contract my muscles vigorously (don't ask which ones, please) with every nuanced twist, twitch or change in speed or altitude. I figure I'm somehow helping the pilots control the aircraft. Right. Anyhow - the picture is FANTASTIC! The Lobster sure has some great techno talent! Can she do this for others? I have a few photos where I'd like to replace my head for Tea Leoni's......
