Wine Not? A "Happy Hour" Workout Video Packed full of Antioxidants!

Posted by Crabby McSlacker

This guest video was prepared for us by special request by Kim over at Day With KT (with help from her awesome and talented son the videographer). And yeah, I'm posting it first thing in the morning, sorry, but somewhere in the world it's gotta be happy hour, right?

We are all big fans here of Kim's blog, which is not only fun and inspiring, but contains great exercise videos. She's got all kinds of moves to help you mix up your workout, but each video is short and simple--though not necessarily easy. (In fact, many of the moves are hella hard, which makes sense because Kim runs ultra marathons between meals like we might mosey into the kitchen to get a snack, and I believe she can bench press grand pianos and dead lift freight cars and she wrestles grizzly bears and killer whales just for her post-cardio cool-down.)

Anyway, in figuring out how I could exploit her talents over here at Cranky Fitness, it occurred to me that like Crabby, Kim is a fan of a nice glass of wine in the evenings. Yet unlike Crabby, she has a respectable blog.

And thus a workout video idea was born!

Do not fear, there is no blaring soundtrack as is the case with many workout videos. It's all quite civilized.  (But note: if you are in recovery and trying to avoid triggery reminders, you may wanna skip this one).

Otherwise, enjoy! --Crabby

  1. It made me dizzy just to watch the glass-lifting thing on the elliptical. You know me and balance. Even if those were coffee cups I wouldn't dare.

    1. Good thing Kim has good balance Mary Anne! But thanks for checkin' it out.

I'm convinced my balance improves a bit with a little wine. A lot of wine? Not so much.

  2. That was pretty epic. I never would have thought of wine burpees! Might have to alter this to try strawberry margarita burpees once my ankle heals. :-D

  4. While i won't be drinking wine while working out, you've given me a great idea -- burpees with two coffee mugs to really get things going in the morning!

  5. I'm not a wine drinker but you put a chocolate brownie on a plate on the floor and I think I may just be able to do my first one handed burpee. Actually my trainer found a new tool to motivate me this morning. He has a client that is male, weighs a hundred pounds less than me and is 20 years younger but he is just a little better than I am at all my exercises. All I have to hear is that Mike is such a great guy and he did 10 reps when I can only do 6 and it is ON!!!! I've never even met the guy! I've never been competitive before but this guy needs to be crushed like a bug!

  6. Just when I thought burpees couldn't get any better. Although I would probably do it with beer...and the brownie plate on the floor???? mentioned by Cindy???? Why didn't I think of that.
