Funny you mention leprosy. I received a call on Tuesday regarding who does testing for leprosy and only 1 lab in Baton Rouge, LA - can you believe that?

I *hawk, cough* took two days (yes, I was on vacation all last week) this week to recoup, clean house, roam the mall, and catch a movie - none of the stuff I can do on the weekend - thanks to my 300+ hours of sick time!

Leprosy.. I'm sick! I started the morning with little red spots all over my skin. But now they've all turned into larger white spots. It can't possibly be leprosy. Everyone knows that a leper doesn't change its spots.

My saying is always been that you should put bad things together. Work can get annoying and being sick can get annoying, so I always try to go to work when I'm sick. On the days when I'm feeling healthy, I sometimes stay at home because that's also a good thing. It makes sense to me! Say it's a "personal day" and call it good.

Just to clarify, for those kind enough to offer "feel better" wishes, the Leprosy seems to be easing up and is resolving into a case of acute Slackeritis. Slackeritis may be incurable, but fortunately it is not fatal and even occasionally goes into remission.

Hey, thanks so much 266!!!!! And I loved your list of 10 things.

And sorry for the lameness, it's been really busy lately and yet I'm still a slacker, so something had to give.

Diana, I think part of not getting sick (except for the occasional bout of leprosy) is just luck. But I've heard having adequate sleep and Vitamin D levels are two things that help. And I think certain foods like garlic and green tea etc are immune boosters; I can never remember because it's usually stuff I eat anyway. (And to be honest, I do sometimes get a mild cold once every few years, but never anything severe enough to legitimately skip work over, damn it).

I am actually sick! "Just" a head cold, but still....
