And I'm stoked. But I am also one of those who hates strength training, in the traditional sense. I've spent time barbell training and now with adjustable heavy dumbbells at home. But it's such a chore. One I know I SHOULD do, but I hates it. I have found the best way for me to power through my sets is to do them in a circuit, one after the other. Ironically, it's the rest periods that I hate the most...sitting there, waiting to go again, wishing the whole thing were done. If I just go from exercise to exercise, rest, set 2, rest, set 3, and done! It's a lot more palatable. It still sucks. I like your idea of ditching sets though and just pausing before trying another rep, until I just can't do anymore. Mind you, that might just be because I'm not doing it enough or need to add on intensity.

Either way, you're right about the benefits. There are so many advantages that most people should be doing at least some strength training, regardless of how much they loathe it.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09779844606587123817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1704170106558126102.post-77494049837518077002017-11-05T21:42:50.280-05:002017-11-05T21:42:50.280-05:00Everything you do is always up to you! I just like to do my sets while listening to music and get a little thrill when my numbers improve.
I do confess that I have a built in ego trip as I am freakishly strong on leg machines. It's immature but I like to wait for a muscle man to get on one of my machines so I can put all the weights and show off.
That came back to bite me one day when an old guy with a cane used the machine beside me and totally blew me away with his leg strength.
